An Invitation from the Grand Master

Please accept this letter as my personal invitation to each of you and to every member of our Fraternity wherever dispersed to attend the 135th Annual Communication of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of New Mexico on March 15-17 in Hobbs, New Mexico.  All events for this Communication will be held at the Lea County Event Center located at 5101 Lovington Highway.

It is with a sense of pride that I inform you that the local economy is booming.  Lea County is now the home of a uranium enrichment facility.  A portion of this facility has been completed and construction continues.  Due to this monumental undertaking, hotel rooms are at a premium,  The company building this facility and the contractors employed to construct it have many of the hotel rooms reserved for extended periods.  Therefore, we as a Grand Lodge will not have a headquarters hotel.

In the packet that you have received from the Grand Secretary or on the New Mexico Grand Lodge web site www.nmmasons.org, you will find a list of the area hotels, their addresses and their rates.  It is my intent to try and offer accommodations to the visiting dignitaries at the Lea County Inn.  The hotels listed beginning with the Hampton Inn and ending with the Fairfield Inn are all very close to the Event Center and within easy driving distance.  All hotels listed below the Fairfield Inn are quite a distance away and will require longer drive times.

I strongly encourage and advise that you make reservations as soon as possible.  This will ensure that you have a place to stay and will also assist the arrangements and credentials committees in their assigned duties.
